Cities are engaging in the fight for climate change and the preservation of biodiversity.
Nice Climate Summit is the first international event dedicated to biodiversity and climate, based on research and innovation, with cities in the forefront, as change’s major players. Organized by the Metropolis of Nice Côte d’Azur, the City of Nice and La Tribune, the Nice Climate Summit will be held on September 28th and 29th 2023, at the Palais de la Méditerranée, in Nice.
The Metropolis of Nice Côte d’Azur and the city of Nice are joining forces with La Tribune to host an event which will be aiming for creating a place of reflection and exchanges devoted to the challenges of the fight against climate change and the protection of biodiversity, by bringing together experts from the economic, scientific and political worlds, academics, international researchers, people recognized for their commitment, citizens invested in creative solutions, or even high-level political figures.
An international city, at the crossroads of the Mediterranean sea, Nice was chosen by the United Nations (UN) to host the 3rd United Nations Conference about Oceans in June 2025 on behalf of France and Costa Rica, a sign of the city’s commitment to building sustainable solutions against the consequences of climate change and in favor of the preservation of biodiversity. The organization of the Nice Climate Summit on September 28 and 29, 2023 is part of this perspective.

Nice Climate Summit, the first international event dedicated to biodiversity and
climate, enlightens research and innovation and brings light on the involvement of cities and metropolises, actors of change. Hosted by the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the City of Nice and La Tribune, the Nice Climate Summit will be held on September 28 and 29 2023, at the Palais de la Méditerranée, in Nice.
On this exclusive occasion, La Tribune will present the ‘climate generation’, made up of 30 national and international figures. This selection will be gathered on an editorial level for several months, involving the editorial staff of La Tribune around themes like the sky, land and sea and their connection to the climate and biodiversity. In parallel, a call for expression of interest will be launched from now on on all of our networks.
The organizer commits to implement various actions to limit its impact on the environment (waste reduction, limitation of transport, reduction of single-use plastic containers…). It participates in the ecological transition of our territory and is part of a process of continuous improvement of its event. The objective of this charter is to raise awareness of eco-responsibility among the various stakeholders (organizers, participants, public).
